Melbourne was my last destination and as fate noticed I was having too much fun, it decided to play some jokes – my backpack was stolen. Yes, my entire years’ worth of photographic images was gone three weeks prior to my departure. Hard to imagine but this was pre-Facebook time. The horror!

So guess what? Little ol’ me stranded and alone in a foreign land without my portable prized belongings. I thought to myself I hit the town and making the best out of a negative situation and that I did!

You know what they always say, “Things happen for a reason”! Well in my case it isn’t too far from the truth! I may have lost some things but on that very same night, I met my stud muffin-of-a-prince charming, at Espy – the iconic bar in the heart of St. Kilda!

Fast forward to three months after, he flew all the way to Ireland, got down on one knee with an onion ring during a music festival and I’ve never said “yes” to anything more romantic than that ever again! Today, we’re living the dream in Byron Bay with my cheeky girls, dogs, chooks and cats in a rocking community! It wasn’t my first career, to be honest. I got a degree in Fashion Design whilst living in London and it was through working with top designers that I was acquainted with photographers. The obsession of taking wonderful photos started and I was hooked ever since.

The thirst to know everything about photography just kept growing, so I started going to all the top studios to learn from the best of the best! I even trained as a make-up artist, stylist and even as a model just so I can get more knowledge about the photography world! I wanted it show a real connection, real moments and funky images. On your wedding day you will look amazing and both feel so special that you should have these memories of the day and so much more.

When I set up Emma Wise Photography in 2014, I have continuously won awards and have been featured in Australian and European magazines and blogs. I have also been flown to San Francisco, Bali, Thailand, Germany and back to Ireland! My business has rapidly been growing where I now have 3 hardworking people employed under my company and I believe this is all down to my love for wedding photography.

Branding and lifestyle is sooo me! I spend hours designing and styling shoots that it comes so natural. I have an obsession with the female body and how it moves and captures light. Female-based brands, bloggers and their lifestyle is my passion to see and capture them in a different light. To create the look and feel that suits them while getting the right model is crucial and time of day(for light) to tell their unique story.

I sometimes think how berserk my journey has been but I believe that if a person possesses true passion, their possibilities are endless!
