There's more to a successful photo shoot than just showing up, and this is why I'm here to help you.
So, we have picked the best location and totally know your vibe, but now it's your time to shine.
Here are some top tips to prepare yourself for a personal branding shoot:
Decide on the look and feel you want to convey:
Personal branding is all about showcasing your unique qualities and characteristics that set you apart from others. Think about the message you want to convey with your photos, and how you want your audience to perceive you. Do you want to come across as professional, approachable, or creative? It's important to be intentional about the message you want to show, as it will guide your choice of wardrobe, hair and makeup, and the overall style of your photos.
Plan Your Outfits:
Before the shoot, plan your outfits carefully. As mentioned earlier, choose simple, solid colors that reflect your brand. Avoid large logos or busy patterns, as they can distract from the overall image. Consider how each outfit will look against the backdrop, and ensure that the clothes fit well and are comfortable. Don't forget to bring extra clothes, in case any mishaps happen.
Accessorize Wisely:
Accessorizing is a great way to add some personality to your photos, but make sure that you don't go overboard. Choose accessories that complement your outfit, but are not too distracting. Avoid jewellery that jingles or large, chunky items that draw the eye away from your face.
Bring Props:
Think about props that could enhance the shoot, such as books, plants, cushions with the right colours, vintage objects if it suits the vibe etc.
Use items that have a connection to you or your work, but don't let them distract from the main focus, which is you.
Get a Good Night's Sleep:
The night before, get a good sleep and give yourself a mini facial. Get your hair done, whatever it takes to make you feel amazing. Give yourself enough time to get ready, and don't leave it to the last minute.
If you're well-rested, you'll feel more energetic and confident, which will translate into better photos.
Practice your poses and expressions:
To get more comfortable, practice posing and expressions in front of a mirror. Find your best angles and work on your smile and say every morning and night, "God, I look beautiful. I can't wait to get my photo taken!" It seriously works!
Arrive Prepared and on Time:
Make sure you arrive at the shoot prepared and on time. Ensure that your wardrobe is clean and wrinkle-free, and that your hair and makeup are already done or in progress.
Also do your make up first or you will run out of time and do it in a rush and last minute dramas! Arriving on time allows you to prepare, calm your nerves, and get into the right mindset for the shoot.
Trust your photographer:
Your photographer is there to make you look your best and capture your unique qualities, so trust their guidance and expertise.
The main thing is to feel fabulous, as this will come through in your images. But really, I will make you feel like the real you, as you are bloody amazing!!!
